GBA Discussion
Yup. I thought I should put Gameboy advance discussion here, instead of on the main videogame forum thingy.
GBA was and still is one of my favorite systems. Had excellent games.
Some of my favorites were:
Fire Emblem (6,7,8 )
Final Fantasy (I,II,IV,V,VI)
Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission
And we can't forget the Hoenn region!

Re: GBA Discussion
I actually wasn't huge on the GBA. I still play the games from time to time since the DS is BC but only a few like Golden Sun and FE really stand out.
-----------
Also, for the purposes of site organization, all "non-current gen" systems are considered "retro." This can seem a little sily, since this even includes the PS2 thread, and games were coming out for that last year, but this way we get a more even split.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up~!

I forgot about Golden Sun! Even though I haven't played them yet... (I own them, but...)

Re: GBA Discussion
The GBA has a lot of really good games. Okay, it has a lot of Super Nintendo ports, but it's still a very good system.

Re: GBA Discussion
This was an excellent system at the time. My favorite game on it was Pokemon Ruby. Wished I didn't sell it to get an DSi.

Yeah, I love the GBA as well. It was a great system.
Some of my favourites included both Golden Suns and Fire Emblems, as well as FFTA.
I still pick up used GBA games from time to time. I play them on the DS lite, since my GBA doesn't have a back light so it's harder to see what's on the screen. ^^;;
I also see a lot of people had/have Ruby. I went with Sapphire (and LeafGreen).

No I haven't. Thanks to you >:3
I would personally like to blame Vapor Snake for not having me pick up golden sun. She got me re-hooked on Fire Emblem, so its really all her fault.
Anyway, I actually have all 5 pokemon GBA games. I think there were 5. Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm also still upset with nintendo for never giving us Fire Emblem 6: Fuuin No Tsurugi. (Otherwise known as the game with Roy in it omgeez)
I ended up emulating it, but man it was good. I wouldn't mind it if they remade that for the DS. But... it would have to be better then Shadow Dragon. Most Definitely.

Re: GBA Discussion
Nintendo should have also released MOTHER 3 somehow outside of Japan.

That really sucked that they didn't. Proving that Nintendo doesn't really care about the franchise to this day.

Re: GBA Discussion
I want Nintendo to re-release Fire Emblem 6 in America. It never reached our shores. I really would love to play it.
But it would have to be better then Shadow Dragon was. I hated that Fire Emblem game.

@tony, yes there were 5 3rd gen games (FR/LG are considered 3rd gen... don't ask me why)
also, somewhere down the line i saw someone post FFTA, i loved it! (hated the sequel... same goes for shadow dragon... to unlock everything you have to kill people!?!?? SRSLY COME ON???) lol... *rant*
anywho, it's 4 in the morning and i have class in 4 hours... sooooo good night

I wouldn't say that. In 2006 the GBA was pretty much dead outside of Japan. The game would have bombed if they did release it.
It was just the wrong time, but please, don't blame Nintendo.

I think it has something to do with which generations of pokemon the game can have. Sapphire, Ruby, LeafGreen, and FireRed all can support up to generation 3 pokemon. Same with SoulSilver and HeartGold, these are consider generation 4 games because they can support up to generation 4 pokemon in their games.

Agreed.
Gawd. Shadow Dragon just gets me so mad. xD I have a great friend who was asking me after I beat it if he should get it.
I was like, 'no. don't get it.' It goes against the Fire Emblem way. I never kill of any units in my Fire Emblem files. I like hearing their little backstories at the end of the game.
I want a better remake nintendo!

Endangered species here
Seriously.
I may be the only person alive who likes the Gen. III Pokémon games the best AND thought Shadow Dragon was a great remake.

Don't worry, you're not the only one, at least the former. I also thought that Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were great.

Re: GBA Discussion
Shadow Dragon was absurdly easy and repetitive. There was little thought or motivation to be remotely tactical. I did beat it though, and I do plan to complete it one day.
I loved the FE games on the GBA though.

^ YES YES YES I totally agree!
FE 6 was ridiculously hard. Had to emulate it, but it was totally worth it. :3
FE 7 has Hector Hard Mode, which has been trying my nerves very much over the months,
FE 8 was also good, I never fully got into it, but I loved the new classes. Played through it multiple times.
