No support conversations and the fact that you have to kill a certain amount of units to unlock gaiden chapters. These were my biggest problems. As disappointed as it was, I still found it to be a FE game, and I have enjoyed playing it. (Still need to finish it...)
But the GBA games are my all time favourites. I wish that all FE would incorporate a free play mode after you finish a game like FE8 (I don't want optional battles during the story, just after). This way I can satisfy my OCD urges and level up all my units to 20 promoted. xD

It wasn't that bad! Seriously, it had some delicious retro 'This story sucks, but the gameplay is still awesome'.
...But I'll probably still be the only one who thinks that.

no. I thought that part of the game was done well. What Intelligent Systems messed up with is the improvements. Those gaiden chapters were a horrible idea, and the extra time would have been better spent on something else....like support conversations. That, or they should have left the game alone and just updated the graphics and menus.
Re: GBA Discussion
OKAY SO THIS IS A GBA TOPIC.
Lets talk about
Final Fantasy VI Advance. Or V advance. or IV.
What did you guys think of those installments? I absolutely love VI

ahahaha. yeah. we were getting a bit off topic weren't we. xD
I liked that I finally got to try V with the GBA re-release. Haven't finished it yet (not surprisingly really. what have I finished?! xD )
Re: GBA Discussion
Yeah :3
I really like the GBA versions of IV, V, and VI.
It gave us who don't have a SNES to get a look at them.
@Soaring_wings
Have you even beaten KitN? Damn! Again I go offtopic D:

Re: GBA Discussion
FFIV is special to me because it was my first FF game.
I love the cast.
I like the GBA version better because the DS version is hard. Stuck on the final boss.

The DS version is harder? I haven't bothered to get it, b/c I have IV Advance.
What was your take on the DS version Donth8? Just wondering :3
I remember when I went through IV advance, I ended up getting that weapon for Cecil.. The Lightbringer! It was so awesome. It would attack, and then cast Holy on the opponent. ehehe >:3

nope. it was put on hold (like everything else) when I got SoulSilver :3

Yes, the DS version is a lot harder than the SNES version (I'm not sure how it compares to the GBA version though). In the tower of Babel, there are those salamander normal enemies that can kill my team if I fight two of them and this never happened in the SNES version. D: (As per usual for me, I have yet to beat FFIV).
Re: GBA Discussion
I still need to finish Final Fantasy IV on DS. But as people said above, it's really hard on the DS.

I mean, I like challenges... but... My Backlaag is growing. I need to beat all of my other FF's first XD
I had to restart V advance

Re: GBA Discussion
Final Fantasy IV DS is freaking hard.
Not nearly as bad as Final Fantasy III (you have to level grind 40 levels or something at the end to even have a chance D: )...
But I never beat either of those on my DS. I'll probably go for FFIV beat on the VC~
Also, did anyone ever mention Golden Sun?

No, my day was better today.
The Golden Sun glass is always nearly empty for me, because I drink all of the Kool-Aid out of it like right when it got announced. Now it's languishing in no-news-ville.

Speaking of Golden Sun, both me and you need to go back to our marathon. We both stopped playing the game. xD
offtopic: I didn't have trouble with FF III but that was because I was really over-leveled. I wanted to level all the characters job levels to 20, which resulted in lots of leveling as well. The weird thing is, I didn't level that much. My team was around lv.70 when I beat the game. I think if I was 10 levels lower, at lv.60 I would have had a good challenge. Oh well, maybe on my next play through.
Re: GBA Discussion
I sometimes conveniently forget that I'm in that marathon, lol
The Metroid one is worse, I haven't played a Metroid game since January. D:
Also. No fair. I grindeded to Lv. 70 in FFIII and still got butt-hurt by that tentacle monster final boss.

That's really weird.
What jobs did you have? maybe the job level was too low? (my job levels were around 20, 25 I think).

Ninja Luneth, Black Belt Ingus, Sage Refia, and Summoner Arc. I did think about turning Refia into a Devout and Arc into a Magus, but I don't know if that really would help.
Also, they were all <30 Job level, I believe. :\

ok. I had roughly the same jobs....and my job levels were lower. That is weird.
