So, anyone who plays SMT? I've just bought Persona 3 a few days ago. Gonna fire up the beast when I can borrow a PS2.

As you can see from my master runs I love Persona. I also tried out Digital Devil Saga which was decent but I lost interest about halfway in and regrettably sold it. P3 and P4 got me through the last 2 years of high school, either looking forward to borrowing it from my friend or obsessivly playing them late into the night. I plan to eventually get both DS SMTs as well.

My greatest wish right now actually is for a Persona 5 on PS3.

Actually, I wanted to buy Persona 1 for the PSX first, but I couldn't let Persona 3 go away for like 12-13 bucks.

I'm also playing Shin Megami Tensei on the Super Famicom through emulation. It's soo low budget, but it can be really creepy.

I'll likely try to ebay a copy of P3 or P4 this summer for a second runthrough since my ps3 plays ps2, but the save data doesn't transfer.

From what I've heard, the series is pretty darn good.
I'll see if I can find Persona 3 and 4 anywhere and I'll look for Devil Survivor for the DS.

Shin Megami Tensei series Empty Only recently

Post  soaring_wings Sat Apr 03, 2010 5:51 pm

I had known about SMT for awhile, but I've only actually got around to giving it a try recently with Devil Survivor. I know, for someone who adores RPGs, I should have given it a try earlier. All I have in my defense is that I don't really play on consoles.

I really like Devil Survivor, so I plan on picking up Strange Journey, and all the other PS2 SMT games I can find (which will probably be only P3 & 4. I haven't ever seen Nocturne or Digital Devil Saga around anywhere ever. Neutral )

SMT as well as many of ATLUS' titles, are fairly rare, so you're likely out of luck trying to find DDS or Nocturne. I had DDS for a time but unwisely sold it when I got stuck halfway through.

I regret not getting P4 when it came out back in '08 because now I can't find it anywhere.

I saw a copy of P3 at EB Games long time ago. I doubt it's still there.

Persona 3, in part thanks to its special edition release FES, is one of the easier ones to find, followed by P4. I played them in order so I like both, but P4 makes a LOT of improvements, really, so I'd go with that one if you can, but both are great JRPGs.

I need to pick up Strange Journey~ (wish I had more money, too many good games out there).

Also, I may end up getting a PSP this summer, so I'm wondering whether I should pick up P3P or P3 FES, or both? (As crazy as I am, I'm leaning toward both: cheaper used copy of FES and P3P).

I'm currently waiting for my copy of Strange Journey to arrive. Cool Why don't I live in America? Sad
