Re: Jobs... And Stuff
I'm so glad that I'm going to an anime convention next weekend. It happens to overlap with my theatre's Hell Week, which has 2 concerts moving in and out over the weekend. A coworker of mine is looking at 90 hrs over 7 days. I'm looking at 39 hours for working just 4 days that week.

Yeah that's what I hate about working. You have to be on time depending on the job and that you actually have to do stuff. How do you guys keep yourselves motivated?

Doing a test. Sorry donth8, your post was the first one I noticed when the edit feature came up for me on other users posts, which is new. I'm also getting the option to see people's IP addresses for some reason, not that I'm sure why it's even necessary. Have I suddenly been made a Mod for this area Admin? - Terra

Re: Jobs... And Stuff
I have a part time (25 hours a week) job as an admin assistant. I spend about 2 hours a day travelling but at least it is a job. Many people have lost their jobs so i am lucky to have a job.
Re: Jobs... And Stuff
I finished with my job last month and am very glad to be done with it, as grateful as I was to have one.
Back in school (2nd year in college) and anxiously waiting for my last 2 checks (one of which is hopefully my full bonus.)

I know what you mean Fowler. Several of my friends are having trouble finding work so I feel lucky to have a job right now.

Re: Jobs... And Stuff
The past fortnight I create logos for High Visability vests (Hivis for short), we pretty much make them as Vinyl or Embroided...
Only about 15 of us there and only 2 (3) of us actually create these logos (some of them are so funny too), I am the apprentice basically whilst my master is also the Admin and the one who sorts out the end stuff...so...yeah...I do a 9 til 4 job currently but maybe extended to 8-5 being a 45 hour week instead of the 35 I am currently doing.
We do International Orders too but mainly UK stuff....the funny thing is that when it's a slow day, I can just not do anything until some more orders come in.
Anyway, some of the funnier things we get in are Hen Night orders or protest orders like "FEED THE REALLY REALLY PIGEONS!" or "Hot Nutz".
So yeah...great job so far.

I'm doing an internship (for 2 months, finishing at the end of the month) for a Talk Radio station. I work 8 to noon three times a week, and do guestbookings as well as some audio editing.
Starting in July, I will go back to my on-campus job, which is working at the school radio station.

Might be getting a job at gamestop~ The manager basically asked me if I wanted a job.
So I'll keep everyone informed

I apply to almost anything I see, and I still haven't found anything. >: Seasonal employment is better than nothing, I guess.

I find them rude when they don't answer back.

Re: Jobs... And Stuff
Seems they'll only bother with people they want to interview. No courtesy letter full of euphemisms these days.

American ignorancy time!Terra wrote:It's been nearly a year now since I joined Waitrose, doesn't feel so long. Guess that's just me getting older lol. Looking back on things, I took a rather risky gamble when it came to my interview because I had two lined up (The other one was at a chip shop near my former college) and told the chip shop I no longer needed a job, feeling confident about Waitrose. Foolish yes but it paid off in the end thankfully. Not a tactic I'd recommend for any of you still looking for a job lol.
What is Waitrose and what is a chip shop?

At the moment, I am a sales representative for Cutco., a company that sells cutlery products. It's not done door-to-door. We schedule appointments with our interested customers.

HAAAA! Vector Marketing. That's funny (not laughing at your situation, just that company). They are really aggressive about getting young adults to work for them. Can't say that I trust a company that looks and smells like a pyramid scheme and is about the only one that aggressively hires anyone at all.
