Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots was last night's stream and I gotta say, it was amazing.

Highlights of the stream:

"I'd never thought of you as a son, but I always respected you as a soldier." Big Boss , MGS4

It began at the final boss fight of the game: Liquid Ocelot. If you've played an MGS game before, well, the format is pretty much the same; One-on-one, hand-to-hand combat. The boss had 4 phases. Each phase with it's own theme which was a nice touch. Phase 1 was MGS1 themed. Phase 3 was MGS3 themed. It took Adminassassin 3 tries to beat all 4 phases. 3rd time IS the charm. He died once on first phase and once on the second phase. When it was time for phase 3. I got way too excited and started singing along with the Snake Eater theme. The 4th phase was easy. One just has to keep tapping the punch button and hope that Snake will strike before Ocelot. Once Ocelot was down, we (me, admin, and TC) were treated to a cutscene that was like half an hour long...


That was the third time I watched the ending cutscene and to be honest, the more I watch it, the more sense it made and I'll do my best to summarize it for you.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm still angry...but you have a chance to win me over." Meryl, MGS4

The first scene shows the wedding of Meryl Silverburgh aka Buffarella and Johnny "Akiba" Sasaki aka Tom Cruise look-alike. Drebin also showed up and he explained some of the side effects of the nanomachines that are injected in a soldier's body. Some of the side effects were limitations to what a soldier can and can't do. The nanomachines prevented the person from drinking because nobody wants a drunk soldier on the battle field. He also revealed to Otacon that he was sent by the Patriots to help Snake and Otacon. Rat Pat.01 was also sent by the Patriots by they weren't aware of that. The party celebrates because they were finally free from the limitations and that it was finally over. Happy ending overall.

Next is Raiden aka Jack's ending. He's now in the hospital. The reason why he got his arms back is because he's in a new cyborg body that resembles a human's body. If you look closely, it's synthetic. Anyways, Jack's girlfriend Rose comes in with their son. Raiden didn't believe her at first, denying that he doesn't have any kid. Rose revealed to Jack that teh Colonel pretend to be Rose's husband to protect their family from the Patriots. In the end, Jack was finally reunited with his family and promised Rose that he'll never run away again and in return, Rose promised that she'll do best to be the wife her family deserves. (I bet Jack still hates her cooking ) Another happy ending.

The next 2 scenes are short. Snake is back at The Boss' grave. He said that he still has a job to finish. The camera pans towards the sky and you hear the sound of a gunshot. The 2nd scene is back at the party and every one was getting a lil' tipsy if you know what I mean. Hal and Sunny stares at the sunset. Hal reassures Sunny that she can live and be more exposed to the outside world now. Sunny ask Snake's whereabouts. Otacon cried (4th time now) and replied with a :"Snake is....sick."

"You are no longer a tool. You are nobody's toy. You are no longer a prisoner of fate." Big Boss, MGS4
"Don't spend the rest of your days fighting." Big Boss, MGS4

It goes back to the graveyard, it turns out that the gun was blank. Big Boss comes out of nowhere, telling Snake that it wasn't his time to go yet. *insert CQC hug here* After Big Boss disarms Snake, Big Boss explains the origins of the AI. It all started with Zero's desire to fulfill The Boss' will. She wanted a better world to live in. Zero didn't fully understand this. The only way he could think of to accomplish this was to create an AI. An AI that benefited from the war economy. An AI that orchestrated everything. The AI was destroyed by the FOXALIVE virus that Sunny and Naomi created earlier in the act. Eliminate the remaining members of the original Patriots and they will be truly independent. The original members were Sigint, Para-medic, Zero, Ocelot, Eva, and Big Boss. By the time this cutscene took place, Zero and Big Boss were the only ones left. Big Boss ends Zero's life by cutting his life support. He also explains that the new nanomachines in Snake's body are killing the old ones so he doesn't have to worry about FOXDIE anymore but he also said that the new nanomachines will eventually become a new threat and that history will repeat itself. The future generations with also experience war.

"This is good, isn't it?" Big Boss' final words before breathing his last breath by The Boss' grave.

*New info: I forgot to mention that Big Boss was in a coma all these years. The nanomachines in his body put him in that state. He woke up from it when the AI was destroyed. He also explained that the body that Liquid burned was Solidus'. Solidus is a perfect clone of Big Boss so Eva wasn't able to tell the difference. Also, Ocelot was a nice guy from the beginning. He also wanted to carry out his mother's will with the help of Eva. Together, they hunted down the original members of the Patriots that were still allied with Zero.

Overall, I enjoyed the stream. The only thing that really bothered me was that I got disconnected 3 times because of my crappy connection.

I'd like to thank Admin because that was one hell of an experience. I love MGS series and MGS4 is definitely one of the best games of this generation. I know that life busy but thanks for taking an hour of your time and recording MGS4.

After you beat Dead Space Extraction, will you stream the first few chapters of Dead Space 2? A blind run of it would be awesome. I shall find your reactions hilarious

I will tentatively say yes to that, sounds fun. I'll make a thread a few days ahead if it comes to fruition.
