Google Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Pac-Man

Tomorrow is the day that Pac-Man turns 30 in Japan and Google are celebrating. Google are known to often to celebrate events and raise awareness for causes with changes to the main page on the famous search engine, with their “Google Doodles” but this one is slightly different to the usual stuff, as for 48 hours, Google have uploaded a full, 256 level version of the classic arcade game onto the main page of the search engine, the first interactive Doodle of it’s kind.


To play, all you have to do is click “Insert Coin” and you then control Pac-Man by either the Arrow keys or by clicking your mouse. The game is coded completely in HTML as well instead of Flash, so it’s also playable on the iPhone/iPad. It also contains the infamous Level 256 Glitch (Pictured below) and even includes a 2-player mode activated by pressing “Insert Coin” twice where you can play as Ms Pac-Man for even more fun, who is then controlled through the WASD button setup common among PC Games.


The Google edition of Pac-Man will be available from 8AM PST today to 8AM PST Sunday, so be sure to give it a try before it disappears.
