New God Of War Announced For PSP

While God Of War 3 may be the end of a trilogy in Sony's eyes, it seems that they aren't ready to let the series go just yet, as today they have announced the existence of a new GOW game to be released for the PSP, called “Ghost Of Sparta”, which, according to their Press Release over their blog, promises “over 25% more gameplay, an improved weapon system, and new magical powers — all enjoyed anytime, anywhere”.


This will be the second game to hit the PSP, after the 2008 game “Chains Of Olympus”, a prequel to the series, and will developed by the same studio, Ready At Dawn. While the main storyline has been wrapped up with the end of GOW3, Ghost Of Sparta will be an interquel to God of War 1 & 2, bridging the gaps in the storyline.

It will also tell the story of “Kratos’ ascension to power as the God of War. In his quest to rid the nightmares that haunt him, Kratos must face his dark past to prove his worthiness to the Gods — a journey that will reveal the origins of lost worlds and finally answer long-awaited questions about Kratos’ tattoo, scar, and family.”

The game will only feature a single player, and no release date has been announced so far, but it has been said that the game will release later on this year. Sony have confirmed that more information will be revealed at E3, so keep an eye out

Where would the mobile phone game fit in?

Tempting but I really don't want a PSP. I'll stick to the main series.

The mobile phone game was also set between GOW1 and GOW2, although it was supposed to be set immediately after the first game, so I'm guessing that Betrayal comes first and then Ghost Of Sparta.
